The IAU has supported 21 IAU100 Special Projects, which are national and local initiatives around the world that follow the goals of the celebrations. The collection of IAU100 projects comprises actions that focus on: gender equity; dark skies awareness; astronomy rock concerts; outreach actions in both urban and remote areas; teacher training; outreach activities with elderly people; conferences; star parties; educational activities for refugee communities; providing access to solar eclipses for those who are visually impaired; and an astrophotography competition.
