Commission H3 Planetary Nebulae

Catalogues

Around 3000 planetary nebulae are currently known or suspected in the Galaxy, with smaller numbers in the satellite systems.

The main compilation of Galactic PNe is The University of Hong Kong/Australian Astronomical Observatory/Strasbourg Observatory H-alpha Planetary Nebula (HASH PN) database. HASH PN database is an interactive catalogue of imaging, spectroscopic and other observational data for Galactic PNe available to researchers and general public.  If you use this resource in a publication, please cite this paper: Parker, Bojičić & Frew 2016 and include the following acknowledgement: "This research has made use of the HASH PN database at hashpn.space”.

An older compilation can be found in the Strasbourg-ESO Catalogue of Galactic Planetary Nebulae (Acker+, 1992) which can be accessed at: Vizier.

The known PNe known in the Sgr dwarf spheroidal galaxy are listed in: Zijlstra et al. 2006, MNRAS.369..875.
