Rationale

The number of growing facilities to study time-domain astronomy in East Asia and Southeast Asia is growing in number and the contribution to various field of study. In particular with Indonesia is establishing new astronomy facility, various new collaboration was developed with Asia network of observatory, Indonesia is proposing to host a symposium to build network on time-domain astronomy. New facility of Indonesia with diameter of 3.8m diameter is expected to contribute on various theme of time-domain astronomy, from solar system to stellar variability survey, as well extragalactic transients and multiwavelength transients. Smaller observatories across the region are growing in number recently, this give rise of opportunity for fast transient occurrence that can be observed in a network.

With growing number of data taken that expected to be growing, tackling the data processing, new method as well data dissemination is also important aspect on the growing study of the time-domain astronomy study, this symposium is important to open the new network of the new players in the region to contribute to the time-domain study in Eastern Asia. The location of the symposium will be proposed in Indonesia, which is expected near the new facility of optical 3.8m telescope of Indonesia.
