Subject: Letters of Intent for Symposia in 2019

Dear Division H (Interstellar Matter and Local Universe),

Letters of Intent are due September 15th for proposals for IAU Symposia in 2019. The symposia can be anywhere as there is no General Assembly that year. The deadline for the full proposals is December 15th, 2017.

We strongly encourage letters of intent, even if they are very brief, so we can notify the PIs of similar proposals and reduce duplication. All that is needed now is a title, proposed place and time, a short list of topics (up to 10), a short rationale, the SOC chairs, and the LOC chairs.

The rules regarding Letters of Intent are here: https://www.iau.org/science/meetings/rules/#31

The web site to submit your LoI is here: https://www.iau.org/auth/login/?next=/science/meetings/proposals/loi/

Symposia for 2017 and 2018 are here: https://www.iau.org/science/meetings/future/symposia/

Thanks,

Bruce Elmegreen, President
Division H
