Obituary:
Yatsenko Anatolii Ivanovych (March 6, 1948, Kulikovtsi city, Chernihiv region, Ukraine – September 25, 2019, Kyiv, Ukraine) – the well-known scientist in the field of astrometry and celestial mechanics. After graduating the T.G. Shevchenko Kyiv State University he began to work at the Main Astronomical Observatory of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Cand. In Phys. & Math thesis “Determination of proper motions and kinematic parameters of stars in Trapeze Orion system type” (1983) and Dr. Hab. in Phys. & Math thesis “The optical realization of the celestial coordinate system basing on data of the international projects KSZ (Catalog of Faint Stars) and FON (Photographic Review of the Northern Hemisphere)” (2003); Head of the Astrometry Department in 2003-2014. The main research was related to the photographic astrometry. In collaboration with other scientists he created several astrometric catalogues: a catalog of proper motions of 512 stars in Orion-Trapezoidal systems; GPM1 - a catalog of absolute proper motions of 977 stars from the list of HIPPARCOS satellite; FONAC - a catalog of 2 million stars of the northern sky (Photographic survey of the sky - astrographic catalog). Anatolii Yatsenko obtained kinematic characteristics of the Galaxy and its individual components based on these catalogs. The GPM1 catalog, along with other authors' data, was used by the HIPPARCOS consortium for HIPPARCOS extragalactic link.
