IAU Scientific Meetings for 2025 Announced

The IAU’s programme of scientific meetings is one of the most important means by which it pursues its mission of promoting the science of astronomy through international collaboration. The IAU Symposia aim to significantly advance their fields and explore key questions and emerging concepts through invited talks, contributed talks and posters, and discussion.

“The IAU remains committed to supporting its flagship scientific programme of symposia which in 2025 will cross the 400 mark, with a broad array of topics being covered”  commented IAU Assistant General Secretary Diana Worrall. 

Following proposal evaluation and recommendations of the IAU Division Presidents and Vice Presidents, the IAU Executive Committee has discussed and approved the 2025 list  to be as follows:

The call for Letters of Intent from IAU members for Symposia in 2026 is now open until September 15th 2024. The document Rules and Guidelines for IAU Scientific Meetings contains more information about what IAU Symposia involve and how to submit a proposal.
