Media Advisory: Press Conference to Reveal Nationally-selected Names of 100+ Exoplanet Systems

The IAU would like to invite media to a press conference revealing the results of the more than 100 IAU100 NameExoWorlds campaigns in countries around the world. 

  • When: 17 December 2019 11:00–12:00 CET.
  • Where: Observatoire de Paris, Salle Cassini
    Entrance by: 77 Avenue Denfert-Rochereau 75014, Paris, France
    (access information, walk along the path and go up one floor to the Salle Cassini).
  • What: A press conference to present the results of the NameExoWorlds campaign to name more than 100 exoplanets and host stars.
  • Who: IAU officials and project coordinators from the NameExoWorlds campaign, including the participation of the National Coordinator of the NameExoWorlds campaign in France.
  • RSVP: This invitation is addressed to media representatives. To participate in the conference, members of the media must register by completing an online form before 14 December 23:59 CET. Please indicate whether you wish to attend in person or if you will participate online only. On-site journalists will have a question-and-answer session with panelists during the conference. In-person individual interviews immediately after the conference will also be possible.
  • Live streaming: The press conference will be streamed online on the IAU YouTube Channel.

We will take a few questions via Twitter using the hashtag #NameExoWorlds 

An IAU press release will be issued shortly after the start of the conference at 11:00 CET.
