Obituary:

Born January 14, 1918 in Petrograd. After graduation from the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute worked at a military aircraft factory. In 1949 under the leadership of A.P.Molchanov were carried out one of the first in the USSR measurements of solar radiation flow. He headed the solar research at the Pulkovo Observatory. Since 1960 he worked in the Leningrad State University (now St.-Petersburg State University) in various positions. 1964 - defended his doctoral thesis. From 1966 till the end of his life he headed the laboratory of cosmic radio emission, created by him on the physical faculty of Leningrad State University. He headed the section "Applied Radio Astronomy" in the Scientific Council on Radio Astronomy of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Professor, Honored Scientist and Technician of the RSFSR. Died November 14, 1996 in St. Petersburg.
