IAU Grant Application

The IAU provides a limited number of grants to help participants attend the General Assembly. These grants are mainly targeted at students, post-docs, and participants from countries in difficult economic conditions. To be eligible for a grant, applicants must submit at least one abstract to a Symposium or a Focus Meeting. (Submission of Abstracts to Division Meetings and General Science posters are not eligible.) The grant applications will be reviewed by the relevant organizers, and attributed by the Assistant General Secretary and the General Secretary on the basis of their recommendations.

Only one grant application may be submitted per person, referring to up to three submitted abstracts. This person is expected to present the corresponding work (oral and/or poster presentation) at the General Assembly, but does not have to be the first author of the abstract.

In case of co-authors, only one of them may apply for a grant in reference with a given submitted abstract. To avoid confusion, do not rush, but please submit the form only when your abstract(s) is(are) in their final version. The Grant forms will be reviewed only after the submission deadline, which is two weeks after the Abstract submission deadline.

The Grant submissions will close on 1 April 2015, 23:59 UT. Notifications of Grants will be sent to the applicants by 30 April 2015.

Beneficiaries will receive their grants from the IAU after signing in at the XXVIII GA Registration Desk in Honolulu, and at the IAU Secretariat Office in the Convention Center.
Recipients will be requested to indicate in advance whether they prefer to receive a cash payment in USD or a bank transfer in EUR.
