Obituary:

On November 20, 2020, after a serious illness, the head of the laboratory for the formation of the national time scale, a well-known expert in the field of time and frequency measurements, Nikolai Borisovich Koshelyevsky, passed away. Nikolai Borisovich was born in 1946 in the city of Ulyanovsk. In 1970, he graduated from the Moscow state Institute of physics and technology. After graduation, he came to work at VNIIFTRI. Here he completed postgraduate studies and in 1977 defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of Sciences. Nikolay Borisovich worked at VNIIFTRI for more than 50 years. He made a great contribution to the improvement of the State primary standard of time and frequency of Russia and the system of secondary standards of the State service of time and frequency, led the work on the formation of the time scale of the Russian Federation and ensuring Russia's contribution to the formation of the international atomic time scale. He has published more than 100 scientific papers and made numerous presentations at domestic and foreign scientific conferences. He was kind, wise, warm and encouraging person both in professional and in personal life.
